Project Manager

Role Description:

The role will work within a dynamic team of Engineers and Consultants to deliver infrastructure, telecoms, and renewable projects and would suit a candidate with a background and interest in industries such as marine construction, offshore operations & maintenance, and environmental science. To excel within the position the individual will have a high level of impetus and be able to work on their own initiative once embedded within the organisation, a natural proclivity to relationship building, account management and carrying out self-driven research will support this.

  • Act as a point of contact with clients on project deliverables throughout the lifecycle of a project, including requesting and issuing of information and offering ongoing support for client operations.
  • Attend client meetings within the UK, Europe and internationally either in person or via remote means for project kick off, progress and update discussions. Ensuring the way in which this information is presented fits with the Ordtek tone of voice and is succinct.
  • Reviewing client drawings and survey/project specifications, including review of all technical requirements, with ability to summarise requirements to Seniors during project updates alongside technical authorities.
  • Provide technical tender support to proposals.
  • Review incoming client geophysical data against client project deliverables to ensure suitability and accuracy.
  • Interpret incoming project data and produce offshore reports for further investigation, including use of GIS, Oasis Montaj and other software to interrogate data.
  • Updating and maintaining project plans and associated data to ensure suitable reporting for clarity and decision making.
  • Resource and budget management responsibilities, including accountability for project margins and resource utilisation.
  • Maintaining database information including filing, updating, and organising internal project files and information.
  • Acting as a cross-pollinator between operational and technical departments, driving open communication and ensuring we are all driving towards a common goal.
  • Championing standardisation and monitoring adherence to procedures and legislative guidance to support in our audit and industry accreditation activities.

 

Expertise required:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in geophysics or Earth science related discipline. Operations Engineering, Engineering or Sciences degrees will also be considered alongside offshore industry experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information with clarity and gravitas.
  • GIS (ArcMap/ArcPro, QGIS) experience advantageous.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Have the ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks to tight deadlines.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A full driver’s licence (remote office location).

 

Education/ Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in geophysics or Earth science related discipline. Operations Engineering, Engineering or Sciences degrees will also be considered alongside offshore industry experience.
  • Project Management qualification or demonstrable understanding of principles with view to charter.

 

Additional requirements:

Candidates should also be highly organised and motivated individuals with effective communication skills, a good work ethic, and a commitment to technical excellence, personal efficiency, and career progression through Continued Professional Development. Own transport is essential due to the remote location of the office.
