Tender Engineer

As Venterra continues to expand, we are on the lookout for a Tender Engineer to enhance our team. The selected candidate will be employed through Ordtek and will work from our Hethel, Norwich office.

Role Description: 

The role is pivotal to Venterra’s growth, focusing on business development and enhancing market presence. The ideal candidate will be proactive, innovative, and client-centric, ensuring high-quality deliverables within deadlines.

Key responsibilities will also include:

  • Manage the tender preparation process, meticulously analysing Request for Proposals and Invitation to Tender documents, formulating competitive and comprehensive bids, ensuring they meet all contractual, technical, and compliance requirements.
  • Craft and present engaging and persuasive presentations tailored to the company's strengths and client needs.
  • Act as the company’s ambassador at industry events, seeking out new business opportunities and expanding the company's professional network.
  • Create bespoke proposals, leveraging an in-depth understanding of client objectives, aimed at persuading key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the proposal creation workflow, guaranteeing the final submission is exemplary in its composition, content, and delivery, meeting all deadlines.
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure that the proposal is practical and that the company can deliver on the technical aspects promised to the client.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners to consolidate pertinent data for a cohesive tender response.
  • Update and polish the company's project portfolio and qualifications documentation regularly.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine proposal terms, seeking legal advice where necessary to ensure compliance and protection.
  • Ensure all necessary internal endorsements are obtained throughout the tender and proposal stages.
  • Handle procurement activities, including the facilitation of prequalification questionnaires and registration of interest.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, guiding them through the proposal process to contract award, with support from the Operations team.
  • Perform thorough research and analysis to inform client interactions and risk assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of contract documents as needed.
  • Manage the sales database, maintaining accurate records and tracking business opportunities.
  • Coordinate sales meetings to discuss and align with strategic business development goals.
  • Administer the archival and retrieval of all tender-related documentation.
  • Routinely evaluate and enhance sales materials in consultation with department leads.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support the organisation’s evolving needs.

  • Superior time management abilities with a proven track record of prioritising effectively.
  • Resilience under pressure, with a history of meeting challenging deadlines.
  • Experience within a commercial setting, including sales, operations, or contract management in the offshore industry is highly regarded.

Education/Qualifications: 

  • Hold a University Degree in any subject.

Candidates should also be highly organised and motivated individuals with effective communication skills, a good work ethic, and a commitment to technical excellence, personal efficiency, and career progression through Continued Professional Development. Own transport is essential due to the location of the office.
